Fast connection to two general cargo operations.

With the electronic data exchange service (EDI), active logistics connected the forwarding company Bermel to two freight companies from a cargo network within a very short period of time. This solution, made possible by the active EDI Cloud of the logistics IT specialist from Niederaula, has been in operation since August 14th.

Herdecke, 11th September 2017 — Bermel Spedition & Logistik GmbH approached active logistics in the first half of August with a tight timeframe for the implementation of electronic data exchange. The challenge for the service provider for large general cargo networks in Germany was to connect the sending and receiving points of the logistics company with two forwarding agents of the cargo network. The active EDI cloud of the IT specialist, specially developed for such requirements, succeeded in the technical implementation in only three days: from the system set-up on August 11th to the transmission of the first live data on August 14th, 2017. All business data as well as status and unloading lists are now automatically converted from the most frequently used format of the cargo network to the desired target format of the partner network. This speeds up the logistics processes of the logistics company considerably by eliminating the time needed for manual transfers of shipments within the network. Raoul Scharrenberg, IT manager at Bermel, was very satisfied: “Thanks to the expertise of the active EDI team, we were able to link various partners with different data formats in a very short time.”
